SpringBoard Pitch Night

On November 2nd, 10 SpringBoard entrepreneurs convened with friends, family, small business owners and consultants to celebrate the end of the 8 week course. Each SpringBoarder spent 5 minute pitching their venture to a supportive audience, revealing the SpringBoard tools and resources that benefited their businesses and ideas. De Stewart of Colonel De Gourmet Herbs and Spices at Findlay Market shared some of the ingredients he attributes to his success – fearlessness and creativity! De stressed the importance of adaptability. Successful entrepreneurs understand that not everything goes as planned and responding quickly and thoughtfully to changes in consumer demands or the economic climate is absolutely necessary.

Bill Cunningham, facilitator of this session, put a tremendous amount of energy and time into this class, providing sound advice and moral support as these students worked through the realities of starting or growing a business. The entrepreneurial ideas ranged from motivational speaking, to a legal graphics firm, to a grocery and food delivery service.
